My apology to foolsfor casually and callously clumping you together with congressmen. It's just that I seem to be having trouble finding appropriate adjectives to describe these clowns (sorry, clowns) to describe these idiots (sorry, idiots) without offending those who were formerly known as some of the worst among us. Perhaps I should use the ultimate insult when descibing politicians and just call them politicians.
What have these "politicians" done as of late to raise my ire to such an elevated level? Well, let's see. Once again, and again and again, congress has decided to drag oil executives on the carpet, accuse them of price fixing, demand that prices be lowered, and threaten windfall profit taxes for the unmitigated gall of oil companies actually trying to be something other than nonprofit entities. Don't these companies realize that they reside in the UUSSR? No one other than the government is allowed to make a profit, so get with the program.
Old or repeat news, you may say. True as true can be, but now commugress has added a new twist to an already twisted mess. The House of Reprehensibles had the extreme foresight to authorize sueing OPEC for price gouging! What are the ramifications of this ploy other than causing OPEC members to laugh their collective asses off to the extent of blowing a bowel? Not much, other than maybe causing them to pull vast amounts of investments out of the US in an attempt to prevent them from being frozen in the future. That would weaken the overall economy and escalate fuel prices even further. Way to go, morons. (sorry, morons)
Forgotten in this ongoing debacle is just who is to blame for our current precarious energy situation. Could it possibly be the same scum (sorry, scum) who have blocked nuclear powerplant constuction, refinery construction, oil exploration and development, and coal fired powerplants in the good old US of A? Could be. Hey, at least they declared the polar bear endangered, thus further blocking energy exploration.
Lest we get too self-righteous in our justified trashing of this trash, remember, we as a people have elected these politicians, and it's up to us to unelect them. Otherwise, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Vote unincumbent, it's for your own good.
Anyway, I hope you see why I felt an apology was in order.

Idiots and Congrehomies
Right on, Timster.
As Mark Twain once remarked, "Suppose I was an idiot. And suppose I was a Congressman. But I repeat myself."
Watching Schumer and Maxine surely gave comfort to our enemies, knowing such utter nincompoops are in positions of power in the US.
fools rush in
Doh
You forgot to apologize to trash.
The more I think about the state of our country politically, the more pessimistic I become about where this country is going. Liberalism is gaining more and more ground, causing as much damage, if not more, than what terrorists would do. The citizens of the greatest country known to man are ignorant fools (sorry fools) and are too stupid to do anything about fixing what is wrong with America, which starts with their elected politicians. Instead, they continue to blindly vote the way they were ingrained, to vote for the party dog over the opposition, because there is some kind of loyalty to be had, despite their party likely being the cause of the problems those people face. It's hard to stay optimistic when this country is going down the toilet more and more. Our founding fathers would be spinning in their graves if they saw where the country they bled and died for has gone.
Sorry, trash or sorry trash?
