Let's say there are 8 people around a campfire. All 8 are varying distances from the campfire.

The first is 3 feet away from the fire.. He's stark naked, and burning up.
The second is 6 feet away, but wears a very heavy sweater. Because of that, he's even hotter than the first guy.
The third is 8 feet away, with a light cardigan sweater. He's pretty comfy, but he doesn't seem to care much about the campfire for some unknown reason.
The fourth is 12 feet away, and wears a t-shirt. He wishes he could be as lucky as the third guy. It's cold where he is.

Then there are the big guys.

The fifth is 40 feet away, but wears 20 layers of heavy clothing, and his body heat actually produces more energy than he receives from the campfire.
The sixth is 90 feet away, and wears 6 or 7 layers of clothing.
The seventh is 150 feet away, and has 3 layers.
The eight and last is 250 feet away, and has 3 layers.

What do all of these campfire gatherers have in common? If a log drops/shifts in the campfire, and the fire becomes slightly hotter, each and every one of them receives a bit more energy from the fire, and gets a bit warmer, some more and some less warmer, depending on the clothing they have around them.

Sound familiar? It should; it's what climate change chicken littles refuse to acknowledge.
